Iris gets its name from the Greek word for Rainbow. Which makes sense as every Iris in my garden appears to sport a different combination colors. This makes the task of thinning out the rhizomes in the fall extra difficult for me as I fear I will loose one of the rare exotic color combinations. Another way of putting it is I may be bordering on being an Iris hoarder.
